Walk, Worship, and Roast Pork!

The forecast was rain later, so we decided to walk earlier. Then the forecast changed to rain sooner, but we walked anyway. We were hardly out of the house when a car flashed its lights and there was much waving and smiling. A friendly village. We wonder who they were. We stopped and exchanged smiles and greetings with around 14 ... Read More »

Short, simple pictures!

We met as usual the morning of Sunday 6th December 2020. Just the two of us – until restrictions are eased. After committing our time together to the Lord, Wendy started by reading psalm 107, and instead of going into praise and worship, we spent time looking at the psalm. I love this psalm. But then, I love whichever psalm ... Read More »

LOCKDOWN LAUDATIONS!

Why praise God? Because He changed my life forever, around 55 years ago. Why worship God? Because He is Who He is – God, Creator, One before we each will stand, Judge, Saviour, and so much else. Why worship Him during lockdown? Because circumstances are a total irrelevance. So Wendy and I get the guitar out, commit our time to ... Read More »

Opportunities!

We are told so often in scripture not to complain, and yet there seems to be so much from within the Church today. Look for the opportunities and potential! It was a bright morning Sunday, and with the lockdown, there was no set time for us to worship – so we walked in the early morning sunshine and enjoyed the ... Read More »

You’re not invited!

Just the two of us meeting again, which can seem boring? No way – this is live worship, where the Spirit of the Lord is, and we participate. We find this more exciting and meaningful than screens, but appreciate the advantages for those who do. What did we do? Wendy read Psalm 111, and said why it was meaningful to ... Read More »

How To – on Sundays!

So what are you doing on Sundays during lockdown? Many people are sitting in front of screens, and are being blessed in doing so. Maybe Wendy and I would be too, but it would be tempting to be passive, and just sit there. In order to grow, we have to exercise gifting. That is part of the ethos of the ... Read More »

We Pause!

We had meetings at Catfield and Frettenham, though I can only report on the Frettenham meeting, Wendy started the meeting with a psalm, Bob led worship. Mike and Pauline led us in communion. We spent time praying for those unable to be with us, especially those unwell at present. We looked at Psalms 120 and 121. Psalms 120 to 134, ... Read More »

Strong Hills – Powerful God!

I enjoy the meetings when our sitting room is really crowded, and wish it was more often. The most at a meeting here was 29. And then lockdown, and just Wendy and me meeting – singing,  communion, prayer, sharing from the word, etc. And a roast! Loved it. And then it was 15-20 on the patio. Now it is 6s. I ... Read More »

Different!

With the ‘6’ rule, we are getting used to multi-siting on Sundays. Also, one member recently met someone who later tested positive, so they are self-quarantining. Others are increasingly cautious, which is good practice. There are many promises for the believer in psalm 92 and elsewhere. How else can this psalm be interpreted? Just for Israel? Just for that time? ... Read More »

Three Venues

Our first Sunday with three venues. So thank you to Shirlene, and Bob and Connie for joining us in hosting. Thank you to musicians, and those who led in prayer, moved in the gifts of the Spirit, gave words and teaching, and led communion. It is so good that those who are new to our New Testament meeting style are ... Read More »
