‘Tis mystery all! Well, we sometimes wonder what has happened to people. We knew some were away on holiday, but others…. We later found that one had overslept, and others – we’ll hear in due course and hope they are safe.
In Exodus 25.2 Moses was told by the Lord to accept offerings from those whose hearts were moved. That should be true for us too. Have our hearts been moved? It is good to pause and reflect on the goodness of God to us in our lives, looking at concrete examples of times when he ‘restored our fortunes’, or saw us through one of life’s storms, or healed us from something doctors could not touch – and then come before the Lord with offerings of praise. So we did!
Cliff led communion. Shirlene shared on the need to be prepared, based on the parable of the virgins in the opening verses of Matthew 25.
We looked briefly at Psalm 122, where we are told to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and prayed for Israel and the Lord’s people in all countries and nations where there is persecution and danger.
Thank you to those who came and enjoyed a curry breakfast at Crossways yesterday.
The meeting next Sunday is at Catfield. Please let Shirlene know if you intend to attend and stay for lunch.
