BALÁZS

A great time this morning. Is that because it was an especially good meeting, or because I always enjoy meeting with the Lord’s people? Certainly the latter, and probably the former!

It was great to have Faye with us, and Frank and Alfie. And over from Hungary, and staying with us, Balázs. I led praise and worship, Ann encouraged us to be listening to and obeying God (and gave testimony) and Barry H spoke of Judah going first into the promised land and taking Simeon with him. Praise (the meaning of Judah) and hearing (the meaning of Simeon) – the way to overcome challenges and enter the promised land.

Frank played a short recording on the need to make sure our roots are deep. Cliff led communion.

Balázs reminded us that he hadn’t been to us since November. He had been discouraged, but the Lord was binging revival to the village near Budapest where he works among the Roma (gypsy) people. 5 people (dealers and users) had come right off drugs. 10 had been baptised. The illiterate were watching Bible readings several times a day on their televisions.

People were asking for (and getting) house meetings every day. Balázs and others were now being invited into the no-go slums where knife gangs operated, and there was a house group there. He asked for prayer re his discipling people who could not handle money, and who did not know how to bring up their children. He thanked the fellowship and individuals for ongoing support for his work.

People enjoyed refreshments, and stayed around in fellowship, with usual laughter and testimony, etc.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
