House Church

A small number of people, but we are a house church! We started with 2, and have been in the 30s.

But the number who come are always the right number. Always, everyone can take part, and this morning, everyone did.

Praise and worship was interspersed with prayers and words of encouragement. Barry H spoke from Luke 8, with a multitude of observations, and perhaps majoring on faith, as shown by the woman who ‘touched Jesus’ garment’. Also, some of those healed by Jesus were told to keep quiet about it and others were told to let others know what the Lord had done. Likewise, some today proclaim loudly, and others take a softer line. We all have different functions and ways of doing things.

Wendy L led communion, after which we prayed for those not with us.

Wendy L had been celebrating a birthday during the week. There was a beautiful birthday cake made by Fiona, and we had the usual candle and singing.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
