There’s usually good attendance when a guest speaker is with us, and it was good to have a room full yesterday morning, and great to welcome back Jonathan and Paige. Also, welcome to David, from Hemsby, who came here for the first time, though he has been to the fellowship at Catfield. Jane travels from Beccles, where she hopes to have occasional meetings, and it’s always a joy to have her with us.
Thank you to Bob for leading worship, for many contributions from others present, and to Shirlene for leading communion.
Jonathan spoke from Acts 3.6-8, where the crippled man at the Gate Beautiful was healed through Peter. He had denied he knew Jesus at his trial, had received the power of the Holy Spirit, and now lived with an awareness of this.
We come to Jesus as we are – but we don’t stay like that! We each have something to give. The man wanted money, received healing, but essentially needed an encounter with the Lord. That is the same today. People have needs. We each have something to give. But peoples’ deepest need is an encounter with the Lord. Overall, we need to have courage to reach out to people. May we do so in the power of the Spirit. Be courageous!
We enjoyed salmon, Spanish chicken and quiches for lunch, and enjoyed fellowship around the house and garden until well into the afternoon.
Our next meeting is today (Monday 12th) at 7pm at Thrigby Mill. Fellowship and prayer for leaders. But anyone and everyone is truly welcome.
Alpha is on Tuesday evening at Catfield.
Prayer meeting is 2pm on Thursday at Catfield.
Next Sunday, we meet at Frettenham.
