Small!

So many people away – sick, recovering from surgery, in London, family unexpectedly arrived, etc. Such things can pass unnoticed in a larger church, but not in a small fellowship. So we prayed for those absent, and phoned to see if we could help.

There was no Bob, so I led praise and worship. Various people offered prayers of praise and worship to the Lord, between praise songs. Cliff led communion. Everybody actively participated in the meeting.

We looked at Proverbs 18:10. The Name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and are safe.

It is a promise. It has been true for me. But some find ‘it does not work’. Why? Because it is a conditional promise. If you don’t take practical steps to ‘run into the tower’, you cannot claim the promise.

During grief, heartbreak, trauma… I have set aside several times a day, and read a psalm, asked the Lord to speak to me through it, and strengthen me. The result has been joy, strength, hope, and the Presence of God. The promise is true! But if you just sit back and suffer, you may feel disillusioned. How I handle adversity is up to me.

There was fun and laughter over light refreshments.

Our next meeting is next Sunday… NO! – it is the prayer meeting on Thursday 2pm at Catfield. If you have something more important to do, please let us know and we will pray for you.Next Sunday is at Frettenham, 10am for 10.30am in Frettenham

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
