Good is good!

Last week we prayed for 3 situations in particular. Sue going to London for treatment Monday, David’s daughter Elizabeth donating a kidney to her daughter Wednesday, and Craig’s mother’s funeral Thursday. All went well in each case, and we started by thanking God for answering prayer. God is good.

Michelle shared a serous family issue, and it was felt that time should be given to prayer later, following communion.

It was good, as always, to have Shirlene’s daughter, Sam, with us. Bob led praise and worship, and most people contributed. Ann brought psalm 103, which Shirlene read to us. Ann then testified concerning an unexpected, lovely blessing she had received during the week.

Mark and Michelle led us in communion, after which we prayed for needs within the fellowship.

Barry H read parts of Romans 9. A difficult chapter. ‘God hated Esau, but loved Jacob’. After outlining the obvious difficulties, Barry suggested we look at the clear encouragement in the chapter. We are chosen. We are destined for blessing. We are a part of the divine plan. We are loved by God. God is good.

Being destined for good works, we prayed for opportunities during the week ahead.

Next Sunday we meet at Frettenham.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
