Small

I love a large meeting, where numbers mean loudness, but the smaller meeting can be no less of a blessing. Some of our regulars are elderly, and more likely to be unwell, whereas the younger ones have recently been having problems with their vehicles. And Norwich City had an important match today. Small meeting!

We praised and worshipped, led by Bob. Barry H spoke from a variety of scriptures in Proverbs, with promises concerning health, wisdom, good reputation, sleeping in peace, provision, and similar. Those who love the Lord are promised these things, and it is not inappropriate to remind the Lord sometimes! We don’t try to love God because we want to try and realise the promises; we love God because he first loved us, because of what he has done for us, and because of who he is.

Wendy led communion, reading from John 15, after which we prayed for each of those not with us today. In fact, almost everyone prayed.

After the meeting, we enjoyed a birthday cake to celebrate both Cliff and Sue;’s respective birthdays this last week.

Next Thursday, the prayer meeting is at Catfield.

Next Sunday, the meeting is at Catfield. If you intend to go, and would like to stay for lunch, please phone Shirlene by Thursday. (If you need Shirlene’s phone number, please email me at barrielawrence@btinternet.com

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
