New Year!

Whether it’s a public holiday, birthday, Christmas, high day or holy day, it’s good to meet for praise and worship. In fact, to meet with our God.

It was 1st January – a new year. Sadly, two of our number had tested positive for Covid, and were quite ill.

Billy had severe neck pain, and Billy and Wendy’s offer on a new home has not been replied to. Prayer seemed appropriate, but praise and worship even more so. We have a God Who ‘inhabits the praises of His people’ (Psalm 22:3). Malcolm gave a most inspiring testimony, and then led us in communion, after which we spent some time in prayer for various people, present and absent, in need.

Do you have a word from the Lord for yourself in the year 2023? A promise to embrace and act on? A word of direction? The Lord confides in those who fear Him (Psalm 25:14 NIV) and He reveals to His prophets what He is going to do (Amos 3:7). We are a prophetic people. Let’s go into 2023 armed with a special word from heaven.

We wish all who read this a truly blessed new year.

Our next meeting is next Sunday.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
