Thirsty?

I have damaged some part of my left leg, which seems to affect all other parts of my body – moving slowly, limping, almost continuous pain, etc etc. But picking up my guitar, and praising and worshipping God, it all seemed to disappear. Until the meeting was over!

It was great to have Sam with us, celebrating her birthday.

Ann often has a short word of encouragement, and spoke of the huge variety of people in the Bible. Even the godly ones ‘fell’ at times, but by the grace of God, picked themselves up and continued serving him. We should be the same. Never give up.

Cliff led communion, after which we prayed for Sue, having a pre-op appointment on Monday.

Barry H shared from Isaiah 55. ‘Are you thirsty? Buy without money’ – so if you’re buying ‘with money’, it’s probably not from God! And things bought with money cannot satisfy like the free life we receive from the Lord. ‘Seek him’, we are told.

His ways and thoughts are bigger than ours. There are lovely surprises coming our way, and we don’t realise until they happen. The Lord is working in and for us.

His word accomplishes its purpose – for us and for others. Where there have been weeds, the Lord will replant it, with, amongst other things, myrtle shrubs – beautiful and sweet-smelling!

Wendy produced a candle for Sam’s birthday.

We meet in Frettenham next Sunday morning.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
