Such Joy!

It was a little tight! It’s been quite some time since our numbers approached 30, and we raised the roof with praise to our God. Malcolm S testified of being healed of various health issues during his life as a Christian, and exhorted the children present to follow the advice of an older man – love Jesus! There were readings, prayers, encouragements. There was such joy throughout.

Shirlene and Sam led communion.

Steve Mott was guest speaker and he and Elaine brought many of their family. He spoke of ‘The Gift’. The Holy Spirit is a gift. Have we received this gift? What are we doing with this Gift? Steve took us through his own spiritual journey, of seeking confirmation in the C of E, which led to seeking the real thing – the Holy Spirit. And that brought him to salvation in Jesus, and to a life of ministry, especially in healing and deliverance. He gave those present 2 gifts each – one to keep, and one to give.

Wendy had roasted 3 turkeys, and prepared a variety of vegetables. We had brought 3 extra tables into the dining room, but it was a little tight, as those present, aged from 8 to their 80s, enjoyed fun, fellowship, laughter and Jesus. Such joy!

We meet next Sunday for ‘Carols round the Log Fire’, and mince pies and mulled wine. People from the village will be joining us. All welcome.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
