Set Free!

How good to have Malcolm and Moira back with us, after illness and holidays. Also, Billy and Wendy have virtually finished their home renovation, and were back and participating with us.

A number of our people are in need of serious prayer. John and Marcus both have surgery this week, and Wendy S’s daughter at 7am Monday morning.  Michelle had had a dreadful week – problems with various appliances in the kitchen, a leak, her daughter’s grave desiccated, and health issues. On a brighter note, Connie fell over, but there were no broken bones, and she received wonderful treatment in A&E.

So we filled the room with praise to our God. He created us, redeemed us, and looks after us. Malcolm led us in breaking bread, and we spent time praying for those with needs.

Barry H spoke from the final chapter of Jeremiah. Jehoiachin was brought out of prison in Babylon on the 25th day of the 12th month. Is this a Christmas message?! He was taken out of prison after 37 years, and treated like a king. Compare with the man at Bethesda in John 5. He had been sick for 38 years, but Jesus set him free. That is a picture of us. People should see that we have been ‘set free’, as a witness to the truth of the gospel.

Our next meeting is in Frettenham, next Sunday, which is Christmas Eve. 11am for one hour of singing carols. Then mulled wine and mince pies. All welcome.
