Coincidences!

Coincidence? You must be joking! It happens time and time again. One is considering sharing a scripture in a meeting, when someone else reads it out. One is considering speaking on a subject, when someone reads the scripture one would start with. Not so long ago, two unrelated people in one of our meetings both shared that they had been reading the same Bible passage at 3am that morning!

I have been prayerfully reading Proverbs 3 and 4, time and time again, and so enjoying these chapters. For several days in a row. Michelle has recently started sending a weekly text for the notices. This week – proverbs 3:5. ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding’. So, I guess I’m reading in the right place.

I love the opening verses of Proverbs 3. There are lovely promises, but they are conditional. Keep God’s word in your heart. (Embrace it. Meditate on it. Make it part of your life). Promise – a long and fulfilling life. Secondly, be loyal and be kind. Promise – favour with God and favour with people. Doesn’t the word of God thrill your heart? It certainly does mine.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
