Praise, Grief, Prayer…

Praise, grief, worship, prayer, celebration….

How do you handle a meeting when there is national grief, a new monarch, a new prime minister, unprecedented cost of living increases, major war in Europe, etc? Answer – take it to the Lord and ask the Holy Spirit to lead. Same as always.

We raised the roof with praise to our God, and then had silence to reflect on the goodness of God in giving us HM Queen Elizabeth ll for 70 years. We prayed praise prayers, and then prayed for HM Charles lll and Liz Truss.

There were so many testimonies, and then Malcolm led communion with more testimony. There was prayer for Michelle’s family, going through such a difficult time, and Billy and Wendy re accommodation.

We looked at Deuteronomy 17, and the Lords requirements of a king. We applied them to Charles, and to ourselves.

Cliff closed in prayer.

Next Sunday, Jonathan and Paige Squirrell will be with us, and there will be a Liberty Lunch afterwards, to which all are invited.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
