Please the Lord

The meeting started with prayer. Well, it usually does, but having received a phone call to say that Connie had been taken into hospital, we started with prayer for her, and for Bob.

Which leads to – if you have a problem, sickness, difficult situation, etc., you will receive immediate prayer by phoning us, because Wendy and I stop whatever we are doing and pray, every time we are told of a need.

It was good to have Jane with us – a second time at Frettenham! No Bob, and so I led praise and worship.  There was prayer between praise songs, and a tongue and interpretation, and short prophetic word.

Barry H spoke from 1 Corinthians 10. The history of Israel is full of examples and warnings. All Israel came out of Egypt, through the Red Sea, through the wilderness to the Promised Land. We have been saved and come out from the reign of Satan, been baptised, and continue through the ‘wilderness’ of life on earth, to our final Promised Land. But there were those who indulged in sinful ways, and they were dealt with by the Lord. Likewise, we need to live lives that are pleasing to the Lord.

Barry H led us in communion

Next Sunday we meet in Frettenham in a marquee on the lawn, with David Adams as guest speaker.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
