O Happy Day!

For Christians looking back to that first Easter Sunday, it is indeed a happy day! If Jesus had not died, I would still be separated from my Creator by sin. But sin has been paid for, and my Creator is now my Heavenly Father. If Jesus had not risen from the dead, He would not be helping us today. But He is, and for those who trust in Him, He has changed their lives. Well, He certainly changed mine.

So after Wendy had read psalm 80, we sang O Happy Day. Several times! And after further praise and worship, we had communion. I had read 1 Corinthians 10 earlier that morning, and communion is mentioned. I read it again. We remembered the crucifixion and resurrection. Wendy read Deuteronomy 32, where in the opening verses, is ‘Ascribe greatness to our God’. We considered. How great is our God – O Happy Day!

We prayed for members of Liberty, and concluded with more praise and worship.

We look forward to joining with others for these times.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
