New Faces

We love seeing new faces here, and it was good to welcome Darren, brought by Michelle, and John, brought by Frank. We warmed to their sense of humour, and would love to see them again.

Well done Bob, for being so positive, having just lost Connie. It’s still hard to believe. We paused to pray for the funeral services this week, and then Michelle testified. Finance is difficult, and last week she took her last £20, and gave £10 to the speaker, and £10 towards our catering costs. Later in the week, she unexpectedly received £4,000 in backdated benefits.

She then led us in communion, after which Frank read some verses from psalm 107. Lost people, aimlessly wandering, were gathered together and brought to a city.

This is what our God does. I was an aimless wanderer! I was looking for life in all the wrong places. Then Jesus revealed himself to me, and he changed my life and brought me to a city – the Church. God loves family, and calls us to gather together. He meets needs. I would never go back to my previous life.

Our next worship meeting is in Frettenham next Sunday morning.

Connie’s family had a secular funeral on Monday at Gorleston crematorium. I conducted a service of celebration of Connie’s life at Kingsgate Community Church, Great Yarmouth, on Tuesday at 2.30pm. Further reports to follow.
