Love!

The fellowship is still in a degree of shock from Connie going to be with the Lord, suddenly, 2 weeks ago. Last weekend was a curious mixture, with around 85 people accompanying me on Friday evening to celebrate being nearly 80 years young, on the Mississippi paddle boat for a 4 hour cruise,

with jazz band and supper, and a hog roast and Elvis tribute concert on Saturday, whilst we were all reeling from Connie’s departure. We had around 40 gathered in the marquee on Sunday morning, and it was a great time of praise, worship and ministry with David Adams as guest speaker.

That was followed by a barbecue.

This week there were a lot less than 40, and we spent some time praying for Bob, who was remarkably upbeat considering his loss. A very good time of praise and worship, feeling the presence of the Lord, and with a tongue, interpretation and prophecy, plus a vision. That is unusual, and we thank the Lord for coming close at a time of sadness.

Shirlene led us in breaking bread, and spoke first on the authority in the Name of Jesus. It is not a formula, and we need to be aware of this when we pray.

We prayed for a number of folk, and then read through 1 Corinthians 13. Connie was often lamenting the lack of love in the world, and we asked the Holy Spirit to speak to us through 1 Corinthians 13, and make us more loving and more effective.

Our next meeting was on Tuesday, 2pm, at Catfield. Prayer, focusing on Wendy Smith, prior to her radiotherapy, and Bob and thre funeral arrangements.

Next Sunday we are at Frettenham, usual time and usual place.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
