Launching Out!

When we first started meeting as a house church, I was asked by a pastor, ‘What is distinctive about Liberty?’ It was a good question, because within one or two movements with which I had been associated during my adult Christian life, there had been a tendency to plant churches where there was already an existing decent evangelical church. The new movement would then pour resources into the new church, with the result that a number of people would leave the existing church to join the new one. People are like that! So, an excellent question.

Part of our ethos is that we encourage people to identify and use spiritual gifts and identify the calling on their life. Some people will tend to enjoy the praise and worship, without launching out in the gifts. But maybe one day they will, and they will be encouraged. We make room for people to use what the Lord has given them, and help them grow.

It was good to have Bob back with us, and having come through some recent domestic challenges since losing Connie, he was on form. Thank you Bob, for leading praise and worship. Also, for launching out with a word of knowledge, though yet to be fulfilled. Also for leading us in raising our voices together to sing ‘in the Spirit’, also called in scripture ‘tongues of angels’ – or simply tongues. Thank you Bob for launching out.

Thank you to all who participated, and especially to Shirlene for bring a word concerning revelation, and Cliff for leading communion.

Our prayer meeting last week in Caister was wonderfully supported, and some contributions were felt to be prophetic. Thank you to Billy and Wendy for hosting.

Our prayer meeting this week is in Catfield, Thursday at 2pm.

Our meeting next Sunday will be in Frettenham.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
