Cornerstone and Capstone!

We love our guest speakers, and we had David Adams with us yesterday (Sunday 9th November 2025). Despite sickness as ever amongst some of our number, we had a good turnout, and so many present participating.

We started with the song, ‘Holy Spirit, We Welcome You’, and had hardly finished singing when Billy exploded with a tongue, which was interpreted by David. There was a lot of expressive praise. We  joined together in communion.

David spoke from a number of scriptures, of which Psalm 118:22,23 and Zechariah 4:6,7 were the anchors. They are Messianic prophecies, stating that the Messiah will be the cornerstone and the capstone. Jesus referred to Himself as the cornerstone, but on the cross, His final words were ‘It is finished’. The work of redemption was complete. He was the capstone.

The cornerstone is the first stone laid, and the whole building related to it. The capstone is the final stone laid, and completes the work. Christ’s work in His life and especially on the cross, is complete, and deals 100% with our past lives and sins. There is nothing that can hold us back, because all that could is gone. There is a plan for each of our lives, and if we understand the completed work of Christ, there is nothing that can prevent us realising that plan and completing it.

A great time of fellowship was enjoyed over lunch. Wendy provided a salmon dish, and also a sausage, leek and mash dish.

Next Sunday we meet in Frettenham, 10am for 10.30am. All welcome.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
