Consider!

I suppose that ‘sensing the presence of God’ is subjective. However, there are times when several people independently testify to having sensed that presence. Maybe we should confer on these matters after the meeting!!! My experience yesterday morning was that the first song was hard work, and then suddenly, there was a sense of freedom and release and, for me, I sensed the presence of God.

Praise, worship, intercessory prayer, a tongue, an interpretation, communion, and sharing from scripture.

Ann took us to John 15 and reminded us that we are like bunches of grapes. There are little ones, big ones, and in-betweens. Clusters are like churches, and though we may not look very much like some other bunches, we are all part of the same vine.

Cliff took us to Calvary, and read the story of the crucifixion, and led communion.

We looked at Haggai 1, again. Hopefully, we have come out of Babylon and returned to Judah. But getting Babylon out of us is a process. Respond to the Lord in this, and become more like Jesus.

The people of Haggai’s day were reluctant to get to work. Their own homes and lives were more important. Haggai said to the people, ‘Consider’. We need to consider what the Lord has called us to do – and get on with it.

It was good to have Sam and Elijah with us again. A spirited child, but a joy to have among us.

We meet in Catfield for prayer on Thursday.

We meet in Rackheath next Sunday morning, for worship followed by a barbecue. We will celebrate Jesus – and John A’s 82nd birthday. Coming to the barbecue? Please let Malcolm know. Contact me (07786 381344) if you want Malcolm’s contact details.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
