Come and See!

The lawn was white, and the patio was white yesterday evening. And today was not just Liberty, but also Liberty Lunch. If people could not get to us, would there be enough room in our freezers for the food needing to be stored? Wendy decided to cook in the morning, if the weather improved. It did, and she did, and we had a room full of people.

It is always so good to have Bob with us. After hearing that Mark and Michelle’s awful car problem (it blew up on the way to Carlisle) was sorted for now, we praised our God for His love to us.

There were prayers of praise and prayers of intercession. A word – has the Lord made you a promise that has not come to pass yet? He will not take it back, so hold on to it. If He has not made you any promises yet, get alone with Him and ask.

Thank you to Shirlene for leading us in communion.

Jonathan was with us, and we prayed for healing and health for Paige, who is suffering from fatigue. Jonathan spoke from John chapter 1. John the Baptist had a revelation of who Jesus was. He was the Lamb, the sacrifice for sin. Sin is the underlying problem in this world. Frank Sinatra sang – I did it my way. That is sin. That is the problem.

The first disciples followed Jesus. When a person follows Jesus, everything changes. (If it doesn’t, are you following Jesus?). Disciples would find a friend and say, ‘Come and see’. Jesus would say ‘Follow me’. If we follow Jesus, then there are certain other things that we will not follow.

Philip went to Nathanael and said, ‘Come and see’. Nathanael saw a man who was different, Jesus. Our message today is, ‘Come and see’. People should see in us something different, and of God. Norfolk needs people who will say, ‘Come and see’. And those who come to Jesus, and truly follow him, are changed in so many way and at so many levels.

Cliff closed in prayer, and we adjourned to the dining room for fish pie and spicy salmon. And puddings, and lots of conversation and laughter.

Our prayer meeting this week is on Thursday at 1.30pm at the home of Billy and Wendy in Caister.

Next Sunday we meet in Frettenham.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
