A Fantastic Time!

I’ve said before that I love a roomful. We had a few folk send apologies, but with Jonathan and Paige as guest speakers, the Hellesdon house church El Shaddai Christian Fellowship led by Steve and Elaine joining us, and Wendy providing a Liberty Lunch, it was looking good before anyone arrived.

I had a few songs in mind, but the children present (5 of them) overruled me with shouts of How Great Thou Art. And then someone (young) suggested If I Were a Butterfly. It was a great time of praise, with testimonies, prayers, tongue, interpretation, and so much more.

Steve led breaking bread, reading from 1 Cor. 10 and 11. Two young men served the bread and the wine.

Jonathan spoke from Revelation 2, largely on how we counteract losing our first love. We have to continually choose between Jesus and me. He then read Ephesians 1 pointing out all the blessings there. We need to dwell on such wonderful truths.

Shirlene closed in prayer.

Giving thanks for the meal, Malcolm prayed, “Thank you Lord for a fantastic time here this. Morning………”

At the childrens’ request, a generous pile of sausages and beef burgers (thank you Ann) were included with the lunch, alongside lasagna and salmon, and a selection of desserts (thank you Cliff and Sue).

The prayer meeting will be on Wednesday at Catfield this week. There will be a healing meeting next Sunday morning. Bring your sick!

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
