Vision!

A relatively small gathering, but with Jesus in the midst….

Praise and worship as ever, and prayer for a number who are unwell at this time. Most people participated.

Thank you, Cliff for leading communion.

We looked at Haggai 2:1-9, whilst first noting that there are a number of temples in the Old Testament, and that they represented the presence of God. Today, the Church (people) is his temple.

Why is Haggai preserved for us, and what is the relevance here of the latter house being greater in glory than the former. Would the temple of Haggai’s day be more glorious than that Solomon built?

We read of the early church in the book of Acts. People were saved, healed, delivered from demons, brought miraculously out of prison, etc. We are now approaching the end of this age of the Church, and I believe we can expect to see greater things than we read of in the book of Acts. We need to hold onto this vision, and respond to it. ‘Where there is no vision, the people perish’, Prov.29:18.

But if we just sit back and wait, we will not be included. Esther 4:14 says we are called for such a time, but if we sit back, the Lord will use others. We need to move out in the supernatural, and bring heaven to earth. The gifts of the Spirit are one area where we can do this. Prophecy, tongues, interpretation, healing, words of knowledge, etc. How do we? It starts with our relationship with the Lord, waiting on him, and listening, and being prepared to respond. In some ways, so simple, and yet we hold back. We must break through.

Our prayer meeting is on Wednesday in Catfield at 2pm, and we meet next Sunday morning in Frettenham.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
