Hold God’s Word!

So good to meet together. Even though here last Sunday, after a week away, the fellowship, encouragement, and indeed laughter at times, and especially sensing the closeness of the Lord, was just what I needed.

Praise and worship always seems fresh and alive. Being quiet before the Lord. Listening. Praying for some who felt really ill, and anointing with oil. Rebuking darkness, and praying healing and health.

One man lost his voice early in meeting. No explanation. We prayed for him. A little later, his voice returned. Explanation – Jesus!

Shirlene led communion, with psalm 139 emphasising the love of God.

Barry H shared from Acts, Hebrews and Genesis, re Abraham and Joseph. Abraham left home and set out because the Lord had spoken to him. Later, the Lord spoke to Joseph about a future when his family would bow down to him. But his brothers threw him into a pit.

But he held that word from God, even if he did not know that Ishmaelites were approaching, and would result in him being hauled out of the pit. Barry told us that in a pit, even in daylight, you can look up and see the stars. We need to remember the Lord’s words to us when in a pit. Joseph had other trials ahead – such is life. But we need to hear from the Lord, and hold that word in our hearts.
