The Wedding!

Although away last weekend (and thank you to those who prayed for me speaking at conference), we heard good reports of the meeting, held at Catfield, where Cliff spoke. Thank you to Shirlene for hosting, and supplying lunch for all.

This morning we were so pleased to have our sitting room full. Malcolm and Moira are still part of our church family, and another couple attending told me, ‘I almost cried. I felt that this is home’. And Marcus and Lesley always arrive with a special anointing.

Thank you to all who contributed. Wendy compared the decibels here with those at conference last weekend (we’re louder!), Barry H gave a most encouraging word of exhortation, Cliff, Lesley, Frank…. so many contributed. Marcus shared a prophetic word encouraging folk to continually deepen their relationship with Jesus.

Malcolm led communion in such a meaningful way, and shared that he and Moira have started breaking bread at home together every day.

Marcus spoke from psalm 45. It is a picture of a wedding, maybe Solomon’s. But it is also a picture of a much more important wedding – Christ and his bride. We are the bride. We are saved by grace, but need to clothe ourselves with good deeds.

Every wedding is a picture of the one true wedding which is to come. So same sex unions are a travesty of the truth, and are not real marriages, but blasphemous distortions.

Marcus spoke with great passion and anointing, and there was spontaneous applause when he finished. We sang, ‘You won’t leave here as you came, in Jesus Name’, and Shirlene closed in prayer.

Wendy had prepared a substantial hot lunch, and fellowship continued well into the afternoon.

Next Sunday we meet in Frettenham. But don’t forget the other dates shared recently –

Friday 6th December. Indian evening. 13 coming, so far. If you want to join us, let me know asap.

Christmas lunch 15th December, after the morning meeting with guest speakers Jonathan and Paige Squirrell. If you intend to come, let us know soon!

‘Carols round the log fire’ is on Sunday 22nd December. The village is invited – could be tight!

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
