No Place like Home!

It was good to be away and fellowship with a variety of Christian friends, old and new, old and young, at a conference last weekend. But it was so very good to be with Liberty today. There’s no place like home!

I wish we had children in the meeting, but looking round this morning, the age range was from 27 to 86. Great – thank you, Lord.

Praise, worship, and several people sharing words and prayer. Barry H had left his Bible at home, but had recently read, he thought, psalm 7. (I love the informal, yet authentic, nature of church in the home). He shared how the Lord rewards those who please him, whilst pointing out that our motive in pleasing him is not to get blessed. We please him because we love him, because he first loved us. This is general truth, and there are exceptions, as with Job.

Shirlene spoke about the blood on the mercy seat being sufficient until Jesus came. Now, Calvary was a once for all time atonement. Rejoice.

Thank you to Cliff for leading communion.

We meet here in Frettenham next Sunday.

Guest speakers for your diary –

9th November – David Adams

30th November – Marcus Philpott

14th December – Steve Mott.

Each of the above Sunday meetings is followed by a Liberty Lunch, to which all (including guests, visitors) are welcome. There will be a traditional Christmas lunch on 14th December.

Cosy!

It was cosy! Already people are going on holiday, and indeed we will be by next Sunday. Well, at conference.   After a time of praise, worship and prayer, Ann shared from Luke 1:37. With God, nothing is impossible. She further shared about the joys of fellowship, and that with Christians, regardless of denomination, we are family.   We looked at Psalm 84. Yes, how lovely to be in God’s presence. The Living God - He is alive, answers prayers, heals, changes lives. We looked at Psalm 87 - the family of God is family, and is drawn from all nations.   Wendy led communion.   Barry H took us through 1 Corinthians 13.   There is no meeting next week.
