Mother’s Day. With Wendy home after surgery, I had forgotten a few things, but Michelle arrived with 6 bunches of daffodils. Thank you Michelle.
Various reports – Wendy L had had her surgery and was upstairs resting. Cliff had seen Bob, who was very sad, though I had seen a video of him, at a Mother’s Day celebration at the home, where he was laughing. Thank you Cliff for visiting. Wendy S is having surgery on 24th March. Barry H’s hearing is still very poor, and he asks for prayer.
Praise and worship, with a number praying. Thank you to Shirlene for leading us in breaking bread.
We looked at James 1.19-22. ‘Swift to hear and slow to speak’. We tend to speak too easily, and it is often about ‘me’. Listening is an expression of love. Stop what you are doing. Look at the person speaking to you. Don’t interrupt. Don’t try and ‘better them’ if they say they have achieved something. Be patient. We are all in this learning process.
‘Doers of the word’. We tend to utter Christian clichés, but do we do them? We have a passion for the lost? What are we doing about it? We want the world to know the gospel? What are we doing about it? Sitting at home, and reading a book or watching television? All talk and no trousers? Let’s live the life, and see that our actions match our words.
We meet next on Wednesday at Mark and Michelle’s home for Bible study 2pm.
Prayer meeting 2pm Catfield on Thursday.
Next Sunday in Frettenham.
