The Spirit came! I am not superstitious, of course, but whenever we start with, ‘Holy Spirit, we welcome You’…. And, of course, it was Pentecost Sunday!
We also welcomed John M, who has just moved to Frettenham. And of course, our guest speaker, David Adams.
I felt the praise was tremendous. The house rocked. People came in with prayers, words of encouragement, a tongue, an interpretation – and so much more. Thank you to Shirlene for leading us in communion.
David was on fire, and spoke largely from Acts 1 and 2. There is not space to write too much, but he spoke on a ‘well’ church. We should be a well where people draw Living Water.
Or WELL – an acronym for Worshiping, Evangelising, Learning and Loving. The early church was a WELL church.
We should have a relationship with the Lord, whereby we know him, and knowing him, worship him. Individually and corporately. Evangelising – we should be looking for opportunities to speak to others of Jesus. There should be something about us that others want. Joy. Peace. David testified about witnessing on his recent 3 month tour of India and Thailand. He spoke to barbers, waiters and others, of Jesus. We need to be ever moving forward, and thus need to be learning.
That’s why we read our Bibles. That’s why we have teaching. Loving – if we are really born again, we will truly have love for others, and be looking for opportunities to express it.
At the close of the meeting, David laid hands on each person, praying prophetically over each.
After the meeting, we adjourned to the dining room for lunch, with fun and fellowship.
FOR YOUR DIARY –
The prayer meeting is on Wednesday this week, in Aylsham, preceded by Chinese food, thanks to the generosity of John A. Let me know asap if you intend to join us.
Saturday morning is chicken curry breakfast at my home in Frettenham. There are quite a number coming, including local tradesmen to whom I have witnessed concerning Jesus.
Next Sunday we meet in Frettenham.
